A Periodic
inspection Report is the inspection of the condition of
an existing electrical installation, to identify in order of
priority, any deficiencies against the national standard for
electrical installations.
Landlords in
particular should ensure that regular Periodic inspections are
undertaken to ensure that the safety of tenants is not
compromised.
A Periodic
Inspection Report will:
- Reveal
if any electrical circuits or equipment is overloaded
- Find any
potential electric shock risks and fire hazards in the
installation
- Identify
defective DIY electrical works
-
Highlight lack of earth bonding
Tests are also
carried out on wiring and associated fixed electrical equipment
to ensure that it is safe and a schedule of circuits is
developed in the inspection.
